Retreat

Postponed…indefinitely

I’ve had to postpone the retreat planned for spring 2025 and I don’t yet know when I will be running this magical experience! But I’ve left the information below which will give you a good idea of the types of activities I’d be running on a future retreat. If you’ve been coming to our monthly Courage Pie meetups, you’ll have a good idea of how I like to work. (And if you haven’t, you can join us using the link above!) Courage Pie is a space to reconnect with your inner resilience through low-key guided activities and perceptive discussions to help people find simple yet powerful commitments to rediscover what really matters. Courage Pie is a space to savour a slice of courage.

Courage Pie: Fully Rounded is a women-only retreat; an opportunity to go deeper and connect with yourself and others during a 3-day gathering of rest and contemplation. Leave refreshed, renewed – and fully rounded. Join us for this special retreat edition of Courage Pie. (And don’t worry – I’ll do an all-gender retreat sometime in the future, I promise.)

Location

The retreat will take place at the stunning Langcliffe Hall. Langcliffe Hall is a Grade II listed Jacobean manor house nestled in the dramatic hills of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Surrounded by formal gardens, wildflower meadows, woodlands, and a productive organic kitchen garden and medicine garden, Langcliffe Hall dates back to 1602 and has remained in the same family for over 400 years.

Schedule

Nourishing vegetarian meals and snack breaks provided throughout.

Day 1

  • Arrival from 4 PM, settling in and exploring the space.
  • Opening circle and intention-setting.

Day 2

  • Explore what resilience really means to you. Learn to recognise and return to your resilient self.
  • Resourceful conversations: practice getting under the surface and into what really matters.
  • Deep rest session inspired by Tricia Hersey’s Rest is Resistance philosophy. We will rest!
  • Drawing your resilience body map.
  • Gentle movement practices & campfire stories.

Day 3

  • Closing circle, reflections and carrying forward learning for the future.
  • Depart at 2 PM after a nourishing lunch.

This is for you if…

  • You’d like three days away from screens, notifications, news, to-do lists, and the other things that are keeping you from your inner wisdom – in a beautiful and peaceful retreat space with delicious vegetarian food. (Will there be actual pie? Join us and find out!)
  • You’re surrounded by people who are constantly brag-moaning about how much they’ve got on their plates and you’re thinking, “Am I the only one who doesn’t want to live like this?”
  • You want a joyful and supportive community who will cheer you on in your resilience goals.
  • You’re in need of a resilience boost and recharge – you’re feeling depleted and need some space to reconnect with what really matters to you.
  • You know you’re courageous, but you need new routes to tap into your inner reserves and remember how resilient you are.
